The Microgaming Health & Care Trust was established in 2002 by Microgaming, which is the world’s largest online gaming software provider. Microgaming’s Head Office is based on the Isle of Man, and all of its employees are very passionate about the Island and the local community. It set up the Trust in order to support Manx registered charities, and local health and social care projects, where the outcome will benefit the wider community.
In April 2009 the name was changed from the Microgaming Hospital Trust to the Microgaming Health & Care Trust, in order to clarify its scope to provide support not only to Noble’s Hospital, but also to wider health and care projects.
The Microgaming Health & Care Trust does not seek funding from the public. Its sole benefactor, Microgaming, has donated more than £750,000 to the Trust, to date. This funding has provided assistance with the purchase of medical equipment, and has also been available to support charities that require extra funding, in order to meet particular needs. In recognition of the Trust’s dedication to support the local community, Microgaming was the recipient of the Corporate Social Responsibility award at the 2012 Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence.
